Lamus is 55 kilometres east of Alanya, 2 kilometres north of the village of Adanda. The city is built on two hills forming the summit of a high and steep mountain. It is understood from the inscription on the entrance gate of the city that the western hill was surrounded by walls during the reign of Gallienus in the middle of the 3rd century AD.
The city gate is protected by a large tower. There are remains of a second fortification wall inside the city wall; this indicates the existence of an inner fortress in the city. On the flat area between the two hills; remains of the city's agora, fountain and temple are found. One of the two temples of the city was built in the name of the Roman Emperors Vespasianus and Titus. On the eastern hill, there are rooms carved into the rock and grave structures consisting of large sarcophagi and a necropolis area.
