Beş Adalar or Beşadalar are islands located within the borders of Kumluca district of Antalya province. It is the continuation of Gelidonya Cape in the sea in Karaöz neighbourhood of Mavikent town. There is no settlement on the islands.
Eren Tepe is located in the southern part of the Teke Peninsula. From the hill to the sea, the sharp-edged Markiz Tepe descends and dives into the sea. The extensions of the mountains in the sea form the Five Islands. Cape Gelidonya and the Five Islands form the border of Antalya and Finike Bays.The area around the islands is a dangerous area in terms of maritime due to reverse currents. Many ships sank here in ancient times. A shipwreck dating back to the 15th century BC was found and is exhibited in the Bodrum Underwater Archaeological Museum. The largest of the islands is the thin and long Devecitaşı Island (Uzunada) with a width of 400 metres and a length of 2000 metres. There is Fire Island to the west and Suluada to the southwest. It is used as a diving area due to its underwater beauty and depth.
Stephanus of Byzantium mentions two rocks, one called Corudela and the other Melanippeia, but their positions are not mentioned. Scylax mentions only two. According to Strabo, the Taurus Mountains first reach a great height at the beginning of the seacoast of Pamphylia or on the borders of Lycia and Pamphylia, opposite the Chelidoniae (Gelidonia), three islands off Hiera Acra(Cape Gelidonia), elevated and about five stadia from each other and six stadia from the coast; one of them had an anchorage or harbour.Dionysius Periegetes mentions three islands. Pliny, who placed them opposite the promontory of the Tauri, mentioned three of them and said they were dangerous to sailors more recently, however, Francis Beaufort attributed no danger to them in his descriptions; there are five islands off Cape Gelidonya: two of them are four to five hundred feet high; the other three are smaller and barren.These islands;
