It is located 1 km east of the Kozan Village of our district and on the southern and western slope of a hill known as Bodrumkaya, at an altitude of approximately 650 m. The ruins at Bodrumkaya are located about 75 km northeast of Antalya. The site was first visited by Italian researchers in 1914 and introduced to the scientific world as the ancient city of Pednelissos. Although the remains of Kozan-Bodrumkaya are not supported by inscriptions from the settlement, they show the most favourable location for the ancient city of Pednelissos, which, according to the descriptions in ancient sources, was located between Selge and Aspendos. This is supported by the presence of a depiction of the cult of Apollo, one of the most magnificent artefacts in the Bodrumkaya ruins, on a Pednelissos coin dated to the 3rd century AD.
